Wine Clubs for the Enthusiasts!
Wine Clubs are becoming as fashionable as your local coffee shop, except you just don't hang out there - most are online, except for the monthly meetings and tastings in some of them. Special pricing for members, choices of wines, new friendships, tastings of new vintages - there is always another reason why a group can easily startup. Here you can get advice about the proper storage of wines, which wine glass is the correct one, and even tips about home winemaking which is becoming more fashionable all the time.
Some clubs are devotees of a special winery and as such, will often make certain wines available only to club members and at lower prices than you would pay commercially.
A mind-boggling amount of material is shared at these clubs due to the vast experience of members who have tasted many hundreds of wines in their lifetime. Multiply this by the number of members and you really do have an encyclopedia of knowledge. Wine debates will no doubt take place regarding vintage, pairing, pros and cons of soil types, and vineyards themselves. If you get a chance to join a wine club, you should do so, if for no other reason than to study wines and enjoy the tastings?
